Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dmitri Anatolievich Alenitchev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Pheonix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pheonix's choice of entrance music: Pride (times are changing) by Madball. Dmitri Anatolievich Alenitchev could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tyler Pheonix's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitri Anatolievich Alenitchev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyler Pheonix!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alenitchev drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Pheonix is trying to keep Alenitchev in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alenitchev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alenitchev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Alenitchev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pheonix swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alenitchev postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pheonix is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alenitchev, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pheonix won't allow Alenitchev to sweep him here.

Alenitchev working for a triangle but Pheonix defends it easily.

Pheonix really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alenitchev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alenitchev is looking for a triangle but Pheonix pushes his legs off easily.

Alenitchev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pheonix can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pheonix tries to stand but Alenitchev is controlling from the bottom.
Alenitchev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Alenitchev has his foot on Pheonix's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pheonix works his way back into a safe position though.

Pheonix shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alenitchev's guard.

Alenitchev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pheonix reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pheonix taps out! nice BJJ there by Alenitchev!
