Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dave Macias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Cavaliers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelo Cavaliers will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Macias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Cavaliers! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macias drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cavaliers looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Cavaliers on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Cavaliers is being controlled here. Cavaliers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Macias wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Macias decides to take the fight back to the feet. Marcelo Cavaliers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Macias gets a double leg takedown into Cavaliers's guard. Macias has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Macias is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Macias gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macias circles away from the clinch attempt.
As Cavaliers tries to get set, Macias tries to push him back and clinch up but Cavaliers manages to avoid the attempt. Macias looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Macias stands up out of the half guard. Macias feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Macias with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Macias gets to his feet - Cavaliers follows without any prompting. Macias closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Macias breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cavaliers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Macias's guard. Macias manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A momentary lapse in concentration from Cavaliers enables Macias to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cavaliers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Macias is standing up over Cavaliers. Cavaliers looks to escape but Macias dives into side control.
Macias has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Macias shoots in and gets a takedown into Cavaliers's guard. Cavaliers is wriggling around but Macias manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ground and pound from Macias.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macias decides to stand up. Macias scores with a takedown into Cavaliers's guard. Macias gets to his feet. Cavaliers looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Macias scores with a takedown into Cavaliers's guard. Macias keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cavaliers's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Macias postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Cavaliers is working an open guard so Macias takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cavaliers closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Macias to the mat! Macias manages to get full guard. Macias is controlling Cavaliers's posture. Macias really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Macias is looking to stand up but Cavaliers isn't so interested in that idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Macias controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Macias dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Macias shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Cavaliers felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Macias stands up and beckons Cavaliers to join him on the feet. Macias drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cavaliers is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Macias grinds an elbow into Cavaliers's temple. Cavaliers is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macias stands up. Macias shoots in and bounces Cavaliers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Macias decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Macias feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cavaliers has momentary wrist control but Macias slips an elbow through the middle. Macias stands up from Cavaliers's guard - Macias perhaps looking for a knockout. Macias gets the takedown into side control. Macias decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cavaliers to his feet. Macias forces Cavaliers back against the cage and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macias drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cavaliers pulls his leg out and moves away.
Macias closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Cavaliers did well to prevent Macias getting side control. Macias stands up and beckons Cavaliers to join him on the feet. Cavaliers gets caught napping as Macias dives in and scores a takedown. Cavaliers manages to retain guard. Macias is standing up over Cavaliers. Cavaliers looks to escape but Macias dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Macias decides to stand back up. Macias steps back and let's Cavaliers get back to his feet. Macias shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cavaliers napping and manages to drive through into side control! Cavaliers tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. This has been an exciting period of action! Macias has his arm under Cavaliers's chin here. Game over son! Macias squeezes tightly and Cavaliers is forced to tap out!
