Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Gamrot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rigel Arsscott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rigel Arsscott told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mamed Gamrot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rigel Arsscott! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gamrot decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Arsscott has one foot on Gamrot's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gamrot closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Arsscott pushes Gamrot off and gets back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mamed Gamrot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A momentary lapse in concentration from Gamrot enables Arsscott to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gamrot manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gamrot keeping moving, preventing Arsscott from controlling successfully. Arsscott trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gamrot looking to control.
Gamrot will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Arsscott trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Arsscott is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gamrot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Arsscott on the ground. Arsscott wants to control from the top but Gamrot keeps moving. Arsscott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gamrot has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arsscott has managed to get both his arms back between Gamrot's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gamrot trying to control the position.
Arsscott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gamrot swivels though and keeps the full guard. Arsscott stands and steps away. Gamrot gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Gamrot shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Arsscott napping and manages to drive through into side control! Gamrot trying to control the position but Arsscott is working away. Arsscott wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Gamrot working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gamrot tries to move to mount but Arsscott blocks the move with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arsscott bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Gamrot fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Arsscott to the ground. Gamrot is now in Arsscott's guard. Arsscott manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Arsscott darts in looking for a takedown but Gamrot gets double underhooks and turns Arsscott into the cage. Gamrot is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Arsscott's half guard. Arsscott is trying to stand up here but Gamrot is controlling him well. Arsscott looks winded! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arsscott is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gamrot scores with a couple of nice shots. Arsscott on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Gamrot is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arsscott doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gamrot. Arsscott wants to get back to his feet. Gamrot is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Arsscott actively working from the bottom here. Gamrot wants to free his trapped foot but Arsscott is holding on for dear life with his legs. Gamrot stops Arsscott from getting back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gamrot wants to take a breather but Arsscott is having none of it. Gamrot trying to mount his opponent but Arsscott defends it. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gamrot connects with a nice short shot to Arsscott's temple. Gamrot uses his free foot to push down on Arsscott's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Arsscott. Gamrot lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Gamrot can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Arsscott is looking to escape. Gamrot working away from the top, dropping strikes. Arsscott is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rigel Arsscott will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Arsscott moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Arsscott shoots in and drives through. Gamrot sprawls well. Arsscott fails with a takedown attempt. Gamrot shoots in and bounces Arsscott off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gamrot forces his way into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gamrot working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Arsscott on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice strikes from Gamrot there. Gamrot seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Arsscott is rocked! Arsscott tries to kick Gamrot off but Gamrot keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Arsscott is still in real trouble! Can Gamrot finish him? Gamrot is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Arsscott is hurt! He's hurt bad - Gamrot fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Arsscott from any more punishment! Congratulations to Gamrot! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mamed Gamrot! As Mamed Gamrot got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I Want to face the best Heavyweights Montreal has to offer!!! ECFC sign me up!!!'.
