Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baltasar Halko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Djin Dawn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Halko comes to the cage accompanied by The Lumberjack by Jackyl. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Baltasar Halko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Djin Dawn!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halko is looking to clinch.
A punch combination from Dawn misses.
Halko moves forwards but Dawn connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dawn circles away from the clinch attempt.
Halko definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Dawn checks a leg kick.
Dawn tries to counter by closing the distance.
Halko takes one to the chin there.
Djin Dawn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dawn misses with a wild combination.
A counter left hand to the body from Halko misses its target.
Halko looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Dawn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dawn.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Halko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Halko throws a head kick that misses.
Halko tries to clinch but Dawn is having none of it.
Halko takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Halko misses with a wild body shot.
Halko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dawn circles away quickly and effectively.
Halko goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Dawn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dawn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dawn misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Halko gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dawn avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Halko.

Halko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dawn striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Halko is putting a hurting on Dawn here, landing some big shots from side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dawn can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dawn is working to avoid the ground and pound but Halko connects with a decent elbow.
Halko moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Dawn is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dawn is not content to let Halko control the position.
Halko throws a strike aimed at the side of Dawn's head but Dawn avoids it well.
Dawn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Halko is controlling him well.

Halko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dawn, who protects the arm well.
Halko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dawn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Halko wants to control but Dawn is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dawn is looking for a sweep.
Dawn takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Dawn is trying to control Halko's posture but Halko avoids it.
Halko in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.


It looks like Djin Dawn has been cut.
Halko throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Halko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Halko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dawn is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Halko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Dawn struggling a bit here.
Halko fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Halko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Halko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dawn is trying to get back to half guard.

Dawn reaches up around Halko's neck trying to control. But Halko takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Dawn! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Dawn is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Halko celebrates the victory with the fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Baltasar Halko!
In his post fight interview, Baltasar Halko started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
