PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between The Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Pawlak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bong comes to the cage accompanied by Hits From The Bong by Cypress Hill. Pawlak comes into a darkened arena with his song building. O.S.T.R. & KASTA - Dziś idę walczyć kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, The Bong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Pawlak!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bong misses the shot to the body.

Pawlak blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Bong definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Bong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bong wants to control from the top but Pawlak keeps moving.
Pawlak is pulling down on Bong's head. It's preventing any offense from Bong, at least for the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bong is looking to work some ground and pound but Pawlak has wrist control.

Pawlak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pawlak throws a hook to the side of Bong's head but Bong sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bong changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pawlak looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bong tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bong has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bong is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pawlak knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Bong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pawlak, who protects the arm well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Bong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bong has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pawlak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bong throws a body punch but Pawlak moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pawlak! But no joy.

Bong shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Pawlak eats them both and turns towards Bong to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bong is looking to wear down Pawlak with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

It looks like Jan Pawlak has been cut.
Bong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pawlak throws out the jab.
Pawlak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pawlak can do anything to dispel that myth.

I think Bong has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
