Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ceasar Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Mera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Morgan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fat Lip. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ceasar Morgan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Jose Mera! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mera fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mera leaves Morgan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mera dives in and grabs Morgan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Morgan pushes down on Mera's head and hops out. Morgan slips under a jab. Morgan feinted with a counter takedown. Mera darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Morgan regains full guard. Nicely done. Morgan keeping moving, preventing Mera from controlling successfully. Morgan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mera is aware though and is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Morgan is keeping the position for now. Morgan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Morgan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morgan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Morgan is looking to work some ground and pound but Mera has wrist control. Mera wants to hit a switch here but Morgan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mera there! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mera really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Mera has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Mera tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mera is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Morgan throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Morgan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mera to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mera shrugs it off. Morgan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mera can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Morgan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mera has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mera! Morgan controls Mera momentarily but Mera frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mera controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mera trying to control but Morgan is working from the bottom. Mera drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Morgan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Mera has Morgan in his guard. Mera wants to sweep here but Morgan controlling him for the moment. Morgan is pushing down on Mera's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mera is fighting to maintain full guard but Morgan has managed to sneak the leg through. Mera avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Morgan. Mera works his way to full guard. Good work. Morgan tries to free his leg and advance position but Mera is retaining full guard. Mera not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morgan trying to control but Mera is working from the bottom. Morgan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Morgan trying to control the position from guard on top but Mera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've been hearing good reports from Morgan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Morgan is pushing down on Mera's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mera is fighting to maintain full guard but Morgan has managed to sneak the leg through. Morgan is looking to take a break and control but Mera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mera controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mera makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mera. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Morgan shoots in and gets a takedown into Mera's guard. Morgan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mera wants to sweep here but Morgan controlling him for the moment. Mera is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mera forces his way into half guard. Mera is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Morgan! Mera landing punches. Morgan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Morgan has given up his back. Will we see Mera going for some submissions?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mera looking to break Morgan's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Morgan remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mera will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mera lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
I really don't envy Morgan right now.

Jose Mera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Morgan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Morgan preventing the sweep.

Morgan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mera is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Morgan, into his guard.
