Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Ian Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Felipe Calderon! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calderon is looking to clinch. Smith appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Smith with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Calderon tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Calderon takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Calderon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. A nice leg kick lands there from Smith. Calderon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Calderon gets slowly back to his feet. Ian Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Calderon. Calderon closes the distance but Smith moves to the side and Smith counters with a straight right hand. Smith swats away the attempt to clinch by Calderon. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Smith, as that shot connected.
Calderon looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Calderon closes the distance looking to clinch and Smith counters with a left to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calderon tries to clinch up. Smith misses with a left hand and Calderon counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard. Smith looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Smith is working hard here to advance position. Calderon trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Calderon won't allow Smith to sweep him here. Calderon is looking to work some ground and pound but Smith has wrist control. Calderon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet. Calderon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Smith wants to sweep here but Calderon controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calderon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Calderon throws a big right hand that misses. Calderon trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Calderon preventing the sweep. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Calderon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Calderon preventing the sweep. Calderon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet. Smith keeping moving, preventing Calderon from controlling successfully. Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Calderon's guard.
Smith has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Calderon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smith is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith is working Calderon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calderon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Calderon is still trying to improve position. Smith wants to control from the top but Calderon keeps moving. Smith working some strikes from top position. Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Calderon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Calderon's legs - danger averted. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Calderon is retaining full guard. Smith trying to control but Calderon is working from the bottom. Calderon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Calderon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calderon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Calderon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith. Calderon keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully. Calderon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Calderon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Smith trying to control but Calderon is working from the bottom. Calderon pushes a forearm under Smith's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Our winner, Felipe Calderon, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. In defeat, Ian Smith stepped up to the mic, saying 'I still don't have what it takes. I must train harder.'.
