Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Ethelbart Takahashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Mctanned!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takahashi throws a body punch but Mctanned moves out of range.
Mctanned changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Takahashi misses with a looping left.
And Mctanned tries to counter it with a takedown but Takahashi pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Mctanned slips a jab from Takahashi.

Takahashi throws a body shot but no joy.
Takahashi throws a low kick, looking for Mctanned's leg but Mctanned calmly moves out of range.
Mctanned lands a nice leg kick that just misses Takahashi's sensitive parts.

and Mctanned counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mctanned.

Takahashi pushes Mctanned off and gets back to his feet.
Mctanned takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Takahashi looks to land a combination but Mctanned avoids it well.
Mctanned only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Mctanned keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mctanned is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Takahashi is looking to wear down Mctanned with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Mctanned's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Takahashi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mctanned scrambles back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mctanned is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Takahashi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mctanned.

Takahashi wants to control but Mctanned is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Mctanned is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Takahashi is staying active underneath Mctanned, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Takahashi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mctanned drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Takahashi defends it well.
Mctanned takes a jab right on the kisser.
Takahashi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mctanned feints the counter takedown.
Takahashi looks to throw the jab but Mctanned is out of range.
Takahashi backing away here, and Mctanned unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Mctanned's coach down at Island Warriors -13 ELITE Coaches was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mctanned's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Takahashi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Takahashi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mctanned was well out of range. Poor timing from Takahashi.
Mctanned with the counter takedown but Takahashi avoids it easily.
Ethelbart Takahashi is winning the standup battle so far.
Takahashi throws a leg kick that misses.
And Mctanned tries to counter it with a takedown but Takahashi pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Mctanned counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Takahashi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mctanned looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Takahashi wants to control the action here but instead Mctanned manages to pass to full mount!

Mctanned connects with a bit shot that sees Takahashi covering up! More strikes from Mctanned and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Mctanned is our winner by TKO!

In his post fight interview, Paul Mctanned gave a big smile as he said 'The Future is now'.
