Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Bastien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davie Brophy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastien comes to the cage accompanied by Started From The Bottom. Brophy has chosen The Proclaimers - 500 Miles as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Bastien! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Davie Brophy! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bastien takes one on the button. Bastien throws a head kick that misses letting Brophy counter with a right hand. Davie Brophy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A nice leg kick lands there from Brophy. We've been told by Bastien's head coaches at Werewolf's cave that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Brophy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Brophy closes the distance and clinches. Brophy lands with a short head shot on the inside. Brophy lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Brophy pulls guard effortlessly. Brophy is adopting a defensive guard. Brophy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bastien is looking to control Brophy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bastien avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Brophy in particular looking to stall. Bastien wants to control but Brophy passes into side.
Bastien is looking for a sweep. Bastien wants to control but Brophy postures up. Bastien is trying to escape the position but Brophy is controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bastien can't do much from the bottom here. Brophy taking a breather here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bastien wants to control but Brophy postures up. Bastien is trying to escape the position but Brophy is controlling the position. Bastien is looking to reverse the position. Brophy taking a breather here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brophy thumps Bastien with a low kick. Brophy throws a leg kick which misses Bastien's front leg but catches the back leg as Bastien tries to avoid it. Brophy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Brophy with a nice cross. Bastien throws a low kick but Brophy moves out of range easily. Brophy lands a nice hook to Bastien's body. Bastien takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A nice inside leg kick there by Brophy. That's going to slow Bastien down. Brophy throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Bastien stumbling backwards into the cage! Bastien bounces back off the cage towards Brophy, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Brophy lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Brophy celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Davie Brophy! Davie Brophy is the new featherweight champion! Davie Brophy decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
