Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pounamu Akona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Worry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Worry told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pounamu Akona! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Diego Worry! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Worry attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. A head kick misses from Worry. Worry misses with a series of wild punches.
Worry misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Worry tries to clinch there but Akona circles away.
Worry stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Worry wants it to stay on the feet. Worry gets a clinch. Worry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Worry stuffs the takedown attempt from Akona. Akona gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Some wild striking there from Worry.
Worry throws a right and a left that both miss. Worry pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Akona back to the cage. Worry follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Sloppy strikes from Worry. Those never looked like landing. Akona drops down looking for a counter takedown but Worry sprawls and moves away. Worry fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Akona is out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Worry throws a combination that misses and Akona counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Worry! Worry explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Worry misses with the combination.

Akona changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Worry looks to land a right hand but Akona moved out of range. Akona changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Worry tries to avoid it but Akona manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Worry to the ground. Worry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pounamu Akona. That's going to take a lot out of him. Worry throws a combination that misses and Akona counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Worry! Worry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Akona. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This has been an exciting period of action! Akona tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Akona has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Akona decides to stand up, so the ref orders Worry to his feet. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Akona checks a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akona blocks a low kick nicely. Worry misses with a hook. Akona ducked under it nicely. Akona changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Worry tried to score with a low kick but Akona checks it. Akona checks a leg kick. Worry throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice sprawl there from Worry as Akona shoots in. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Worry lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Akona has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Akona and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Worry misses with a two punch combination.

Akona fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Akona has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Worry throws a series of punches but Akona avoids them all with ease. Worry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Akona wants to control from the top but Worry keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akona controls from within his opponent's guard. Akona drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Worry dives on top into guard.
Akona is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Worry has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Akona to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Worry is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Akona pulls down on the head and he's put Worry to sleep! This one is all over!
