Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Florent Gunines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derek Patterson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunines tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Patterson defends well and Gunines ends up having to push Patterson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Patterson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gunines shoots for a takedown but Patterson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A jab lands there for Patterson.
Patterson lands a two punch combo.
Gunines shoots in looking for a takedown. Patterson tries to sprawl out of it but Gunines keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Patterson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Florent Gunines. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Patterson lands a two punch combo.

Gunines throws a big counter combination but Patterson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Gunines tries to close the distance and clinch but Patterson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gunines shoots in for a takedown but Patterson shows good takedown defense.
Gunines throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Patterson's waist but Patterson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gunines off to one side.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Patterson lands a head kick. Gunines smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Patterson scores with a shot to the body.
Gunines shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Patterson lands a really nice looking cross but Gunines seems unphased.
Derek Patterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gunines shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Patterson defends it nicely.
Patterson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Patterson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Patterson scores with a jab. Gunines acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gunines tries to clinch
and Patterson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gunines misses with a takedown
and Gunines takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Left hook, right uppercut from Patterson.
Patterson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gunines's head.
Derek Patterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Patterson has managed to clinch.
Patterson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Patterson tries a head kick but it misses.
Patterson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Patterson.
Gunines is rocked!
Patterson steps in with a hook that catches Gunines right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Patterson follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Gunines looks absolutely devastated.
