Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Ikari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, JP Alcano!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcano pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Alcano tries a head kick but it misses.
Alcano misses with a few strikes there.
Ikari displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Alcano throws out the jab.

Ikari really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ikari blocks a head kick by Alcano.
Alcano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alcano misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Alcano lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ikari circles away quickly and effectively.
Alcano throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Alcano looks gassed!
Alcano rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ikari moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alcano ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ikari moves away.
Alcano misses with a head kick.
A combination from Alcano does no damage.
Ikari tries for a takedown but Alcano sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Alcano misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ikari fails with the takedown.
JP Alcano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ikari fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinji Ikari. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ikari darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Alcano tries to roll over but Ikari keeps him under control.
Alcano is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ikari passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Alcano!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ikari is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Alcano can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ikari is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Ikari!
