Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Walnuts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Estrada!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Estrada tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Walnuts was well out of range. Poor timing from Estrada.
Estrada misses with a few strikes there.
Estrada lands with a nice body punch.
Walnuts looks to land a body kick but Estrada moved away.
Walnuts throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Walnuts throws a leg kick but Estrada moved away.
Estrada has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Walnuts is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Estrada scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Estrada scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Walnuts tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Estrada swivels and escapes.
It seemed like Estrada was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Estrada lunges at Walnuts with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Walnuts's hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Walnuts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walnuts is trying to push Estrada away but Estrada has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Estrada is looking to control Walnuts's arms but Walnuts gets an underhook and turns him. Now Estrada has his back to the cage.
Estrada goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Estrada tries a body shot but Walnuts blocks it.
Walnuts tries to break free but Estrada pushes him back against the cage.
Estrada can't find room to land a body shot as Walnuts controls the action.
Walnuts has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Walnuts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Estrada throws a hook but Walnuts avoids it easily.

Estrada throws a body punch but Walnuts moves out of range.
Estrada thuds a left hand into Walnuts's body.
Walnuts swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Estrada lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Walnuts scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Diego Estrada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Walnuts steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Estrada.
Walnuts dives in for a single leg takedown but Estrada sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Estrada stuns Walnuts with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

No joy there for Walnuts, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Paul Walnuts has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Walnuts goes for a double leg but Estrada avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Estrada continues to drive forward.

and Walnuts counters with a shoot takedown. Estrada fights it but they end up in guard.
Estrada is looking to stand back up but Walnuts counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Estrada.

Walnuts wants to free his trapped foot but Estrada is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Walnuts passes the guard and advances to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Estrada is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Walnuts prevents Estrada from getting the reversal.

Walnuts definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Paul Walnuts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Estrada lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Estrada lands a nice hook to Walnuts's body. Walnuts takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Walnuts lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Estrada throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Walnuts on the side of the head.
Walnuts tried to score with a low kick but Estrada checks it.

and Estrada counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Walnuts will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Estrada fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Walnuts looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Walnuts shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Walnuts was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Estrada is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Diego Estrada is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Walnuts stands up.
Paul Walnuts has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Walnuts drops Estrada with a beautiful combination! Estrada stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Walnuts is looking for the KO!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paul Walnuts.
I think Estrada has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
