Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chief Sperry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Benson!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sperry leaves Benson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sperry attempts a counter takedown but Benson avoids it well and moves away.
Sperry has Benson up against the cage in a clinch.
Sperry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Benson shoots in and bounces Sperry off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Benson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Benson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Sperry screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Benson! Nice submission victory there!
