Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sgt Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leonardo Motta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Motta has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Sgt Barnes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes fails with a takedown attempt.
Motta looks winded!
Barnes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Motta, pushing him back against the cage.
Motta swings wildly with an uppercut but Barnes uses good head movement to avoid it.
I was talking to Barnes's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Barnes tightens his grip and picks Motta up, before dumping him to the ground. Motta manages to land in guard.
Motta can't keep his opponent in guard - Barnes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Barnes takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Barnes controlling the pace.
Barnes drops an elbow to the side of Motta's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Barnes works his way into side control.
Barnes lands some shots froms side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Motta is not content to let Barnes control the position.
Barnes has hold of Motta's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Motta tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Barnes cranks the arm and Motta screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Motta, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Sgt Barnes!
