Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kru Thorne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodney Hyde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodney Hyde told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kru Thorne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyde changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thorne tries to avoid it but Hyde manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thorne to the ground. Thorne escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Thorne looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Thorne will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Thorne shoots for a double leg takedown but Hyde sprawls well. He's pushed Thorne's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Thorne ducks straight into an uppercut from Hyde and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Thorne maanges to regain guard straight away.
Thorne is rocked!
It looks like Kru Thorne has been cut.
Hyde stays in close to Thorne's body and controls the position.
Hyde stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thorne swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hyde not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Hyde has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Thorne stuffs the takedown attempt from Hyde. Hyde gets slowly back to his feet.
Hyde shoots in looking for a takedown. Thorne tries to sprawl out of it but Hyde keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thorne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hyde does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Thorne looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Hyde bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Thorne's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hyde throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thorne's waist but Thorne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hyde off to one side.
Thorne drops his hands momentarily and Hyde takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Well Hyde has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
