Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Severo Del Bosque! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Ross! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Del Bosque gets tackled into the cage by Ross. Ross maintains the clinch. Del Bosque can't break the clinch.
Ross pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ross checks a low kick from Del Bosque. Del Bosque lands a leg kick that knocks Ross off balance momentarily. Ross jabbing away but nothing is landing. Ross attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. A clash of legs there as Ross blocks the low kick. Ross checks a leg kick. Ross moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Del Bosque shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ross pinned against the cage. Ross gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Despite the aggression on Ross's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Del Bosque thows a leg kick but Ross checks it letting Ross counter with a right hand.
It looks like Severo Del Bosque has been cut. Ross misses the jab. Del Bosque misses with a low kick as Ross jumps back. Ross throws out a counter right but Del Bosque avoids it with no problem. Ross stuffs the takedown attempt from Del Bosque. Del Bosque gets slowly back to his feet. Severo Del Bosque seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ross pushes Del Bosque up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Ross. Ross working some nice short punches in the clinch. We've been informed that Ross has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Del Bosque wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ross has him pressed against the cage. Ross prevents Del Bosque from breaking the clinch. Ross lands a shot to the body. Ross lands a nice uppercut. Ross lands with a light punch inside.

Del Bosque tries to clinch up but Ross pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Del Bosque to the mat! Del Bosque covers up and Ross unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
