Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
34 - 58 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Veli Schwarzeneg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Metsa Aff! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aff throws a low kick, looking for Schwarzeneg's leg but Schwarzeneg calmly moves out of range. Aff lands with a hook. Schwarzeneg tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Schwarzeneg shoots in but no luck this time. Aff pushes Schwarzeneg up against the ropes in a clinch. Schwarzeneg throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Aff throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Aff misses with a body punch.
Aff lands a body punch in the clinch. Schwarzeneg goes for a takedown attempt but Aff pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Aff has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Schwarzeneg is landing a low percentage of strikes. Aff works Schwarzeneg's body with a nice hook. Schwarzeneg is breathing heavily. Aff misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aff lands with a hook. Schwarzeneg tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
It looks like Veli Schwarzeneg has been cut. Schwarzeneg blocks the body kick.
Schwarzeneg changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Aff cracks Schwarzeneg with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Schwarzeneg tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Aff pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Schwarzeneg is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Metsa Aff! Our winner, Metsa Aff, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
