Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keiichi Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutus Landry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Keiichi Yamada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brutus Landry! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Landry looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Yamada looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Landry! Yamada is chipping away with strikes.
Yamada thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Yamada is looking to take a break and control but Landry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Landry is looking to reverse the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamada throws an elbow but Landry slips to the side and avoids it well. Yamada lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Landry down.
Yamada is working Landry over with some ground and pound from side control. Yamada passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Landry! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Yamada is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Landry to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Landry shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Landry wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Yamada.
Yamada is working for a guillotine from mount but Landry frees his head quite easily.
Yamada goes for an armbar but Landry turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Landry. Yamada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Landry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Landry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Yamada might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Yamada has a closed guard, preventing Landry from standing up. Landry must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Landry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Landry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Yamada lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Yamada distracts Landry with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Landry not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Landry is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Yamada working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Yamada is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Landry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yamada. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Yamada distracts Landry with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Landry working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yamada. Yamada not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Yamada postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Landry can do anything to dispel that myth. Yamada distracts Landry with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Yamada stands and throws Landry's legs to the side, diving into side control. Yamada is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Landry is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Yamada working the ground and pound. Yamada working the head with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yamada landing a few strikes. Yamada tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Yamada working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Landry prevents Yamada from moving into mount. Yamada cracks Landry with a big elbow. Yamada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Landry takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yamada tries for a kimura but Landry is defending well. Landry wants to control but Yamada postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Keiichi Yamada dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A big right from Yamada misses. Landry thinks about the counter body kick. Yamada throws a looping overhand right but Landry ducks down to avoid it. Yamada works Landry's body with a nice hook. Yamada misses with a looping left. Yamada works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Landry throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yamada moves away. Yamada throwing a counter right hand but Landry manages to avoid it. A swing and a miss from Yamada. Yamada with a nice cross. Landry throws a sloppy head kick and Yamada moves out of range easily. Yamada is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Landry can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamada slips under a jab from Landry. Yamada swings for the body but Landry moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Landry tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Yamada is able to avoid easily. Landry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Yamada manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brutus Landry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Landry goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Yamada misses with a looping right. Landry takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Yamada is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Landry throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Yamada avoids a kick to the body.
Yamada loads up on a big right hand but Landry slips the punch. Landry is trying to counter with his kicks. Landry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yamada manages to avoid it. Yamada throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Landry sees it coming and avoids it easily. Nice defenses there by Landry. Landry replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Yamada blocks it well. Landry walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Yamada throws a big shot that misses. Despite the aggression on Landry's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Yamada misses with a looping right. Landry tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Landry darts in trying to clinch and Yamada counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Yamada. A momentary lapse in concentration from Landry enables Yamada to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Landry manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yamada has gone for a leg lock! Landry slips out almost immediately though and dives into Yamada's guard. Yamada wants to sweep but no luck. Yamada looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Yamada is looking for a triangle but Landry pushes his legs off easily.
Yamada bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Landry's guard. Yamada postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Landry didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Yamada is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Yamada hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
