PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pin Dik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masaru Hideki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pin Dik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Masaru Hideki!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hideki throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hideki throws a lazy right hand but Dik sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dik uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hideki.
Hideki lands a really nice looking cross but Dik seems unphased.

Dik gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dik goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hideki prevents it.
Hideki is pressed up against the cage. Dik has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hideki down to the mat. Hideki avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Dik won't allow Hideki to sweep him here.
Hideki keeping moving, preventing Dik from controlling successfully.
Hideki working a defensive guard but Dik manages to pass into side control anyway.
Hideki prevents Dik from moving into mount.
Dik knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hideki on the ground.
Hideki manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hideki tries to roll over but Dik keeps him under control.
Well, if Dik is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hideki slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dik postures up.
Dik wants to control from the top but Hideki keeps moving.
Hideki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hideki wants to stand but Dik is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hideki pulls Dik in to control the position.
Dik stopping the sweep attempt from Hideki.
Hideki is trying to control the position but Dik postures up.
Dik trying to control but Hideki is working from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hideki connects with a body shot.
Dik is breathing heavily.
A left lands for Hideki.

It looks like Pin Dik has been cut.
Dik needs to keep his hands up - Hideki had a free shot at his head there.
Hideki dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hideki scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Hideki moves into range and connects with a jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hideki cracks Dik with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hideki has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dik to stand back up!

Dik is rocked!
Hideki dances in with a quick combination. Dik is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Hideki snaps Dik's head back. Dik stumbles backwards against the cage. Hideki steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Dik's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Dik just didn't come prepared.
