Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonah Varce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquez scores with a jab to the head.
Vasquez has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Varce is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Vasquez misses with a two punch combination.
Vasquez lands the left hand.
Vasquez connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Varce uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vasquez.

Varce drops down looking for a counter takedown but Vasquez sprawls and moves away.

Varce half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Varce with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Vasquez to score with a decent uppercut.
Varce darts in looking for a takedown but Vasquez gets double underhooks and turns Varce into the cage.

Varce bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vasquez regains half guard, as Varce was trying to land strikes.
Varce has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vasquez can do anything to dispel that myth.

It looks like Alejandro Vasquez has been cut.
Varce throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
