Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
39 - 35 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zubair Tukhugov! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tukhugov rushes Bishop and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. The referee calls for Tukhugov to work.
Tukhugov creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Tukhugov misses with a body punch.
Tukhugov throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Tukhugov has a couple of punches blocked by Bishop.
Bishop has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Tukhugov misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bishop blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Tukhugov lands on the inside with an uppercut. Tukhugov stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Bishop tries to circle away but Tukhugov has him pinned against the cage. Tukhugov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bishop's efforts to push away. Tukhugov pushes off an throws an elbow but Bishop leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Tukhugov scores with an uppercut up the middle. A head punch blocked on the inside by Bishop.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tukhugov is defending well against a takedown attempt. Nice body punch from Tukhugov. Tukhugov looks to throw an elbow but misses. Tukhugov gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Tukhugov scores with a nice hook to the head. Tukhugov tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Tukhugov misses with some punches.

Tukhugov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Tukhugov is struggling to control the position. With the fighters up against the cage, Tukhugov throws an elbow but misses. Bishop being controlled against the cage. Tukhugov lands an elbow inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A left hand lands to the body for Tukhugov.
Bishop letting Tukhugov take a breather here. Bishop is working for takedown but Tukhugov is calmly controlling the position for now. A body shot lands from Tukhugov.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tukhugov tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Bishop avoids it. Bishop blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Bishop wants to take the fight to the mat but Tukhugov manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryan Bishop. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bishop is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tukhugov is defending well. Tukhugov misses with a hook to the ribs.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bishop blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Bishop is looking to break free of the clinch but Tukhugov has double underhooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zubair Tukhugov dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Tukhugov is looking to clinch. Tukhugov wants to clinch and Bishop counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tukhugov won't be happy with that. Bishop lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tukhugov down.
Bishop lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Bishop working the strikes but Tukhugov uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Tukhugov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bishop working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bishop is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bishop is nestled in close to Tukhugov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tukhugov is looking to escape. Bishop wants to control but Tukhugov is keeping him busy. Bishop stops Tukhugov from getting back to his feet.
Bishop seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Bishop looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Bishop working the head and body with strikes. Tukhugov pushes Bishop off looking to stand but Bishop dives back in and keeps control.
Bishop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bishop passes the guard and advances to mount! Tukhugov is trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bishop with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Tukhugov is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Bishop pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Bishop has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tukhugov's face.
Tukhugov is rocked!
It looks like Zubair Tukhugov has been cut. Tukhugov takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Bishop's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
