6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Socrates! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Socrates connects with a right hand. Corleone shakes it off. Socrates lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Corleone dodges the punch combination from Socrates.
Corleone is looking to counter the offense by Socrates and move into the clinch. Socrates throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Socrates misses with a wild combination.
Socrates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Socrates lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Corleone backs up against the cage.

A nice leg kick lands there from Corleone. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Socrates misses with a two punch combination.
Corleone feinted with a counter takedown. Socrates misses with an uppercut. Corleone saw that one coming. Socrates goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Socrates misses with a two punch combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Corleone is looking to slow Socrates down with leg kicks. Daniel Socrates is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. No luck for Corleone with that takedown attempt. Socrates takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Good standup being displayed there by Socrates as he connects with a hook. Socrates misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Corleone gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Corleone just leaning against Socrates, taking a breather. Corleone is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Socrates avoiding damage as Corleone throws knees to the body.
Socrates blocks a body shot from Corleone. Socrates is fighting off a takedown attempt but Corleone is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Socrates to the mat. Socrates regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Corleone looking to pass the guard. Socrates wants to stand but Corleone is controlling the position. Socrates is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Corleone keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Socrates's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Corleone sitting in guard, not really doing much. Socrates wants to get back to his feet but Corleone is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Corleone scoring with punches to the head and body. Socrates is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Corleone is controlling him. Corleone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Corleone scoring with punches to the head and body. Corleone controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Socrates is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Corleone is controlling him. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Corleone trying to control but Socrates is working from the bottom. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Daniel Socrates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Corleone throws a solid leg kick but Socrates takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Corleone. Socrates throws a hook to the side of Corleone's head but Corleone sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Corleone half committed to a counter leg kick. Socrates looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Corleone. A bone on bone clash there as Socrates blocks the leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Socrates throws a series of punches but Corleone moves out of range. Socrates misses with the combination.
Socrates scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Corleone goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Socrates throws a combination. Corleone tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Socrates throws a right hand that Corleone ducks under and follows up with a left that Corleone also avoids with ease. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Corleone dodges the punch combination from Socrates.
Corleone is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Corleone connects with a jab. The fighters circling - Socrates throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Socrates blocks the body kick.
Corleone moves into range and clinches up with Socrates. Socrates looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Socrates dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Corleone is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Socrates's half guard. Socrates pushes Corleone off looking to stand but Corleone dives back in and keeps control.
Corleone perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Corleone slips a nice elbow through Socrates's hands, connecting with Socrates's forehead. Corleone lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. We've been hearing that Corleone has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Corleone lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Corleone trying to pass the guard but Socrates defending well. Socrates is trying to stand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Corleone seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Corleone is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round. Corleone lands strikes from half guard. Socrates is looking to escape. Corleone performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Corleone looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Socrates tries to kick Corleone off but Corleone keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Corleone moves into full mount! Socrates won't be happy about that!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Socrates wants to try and get back to his feet. Corleone controlling from mount. You get the feeling that Socrates really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Corleone breaks from Socrates's wrist control and lands an elbow. Corleone wants to control the pace but Socrates is squirming around nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Socrates is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Corleone lands a heavy elbow. Corleone putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Corleone raining down hammerfists from mount. Corleone wants to control the pace but Socrates is squirming around nicely.

Corleone postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Socrates looks a forlorn figure.
Corleone is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Socrates is rocked! Corleone in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Socrates is still in real trouble! Can Corleone finish him? Socrates really wants to buck Corleone off and get back to his feet. Corleone looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Socrates seems to have recovered his senses. Corleone landing punches. Corleone won't let Socrates get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Corleone looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Corleone goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Socrates turns into him and now he's in Corleone's guard.
My spies in Death Valley Training Facility inform me that Socrates has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Corleone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Socrates gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Corleone is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Socrates can do to turn this around? Corleone seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Corleone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Socrates doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Socrates manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Corleone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Socrates manages to get himself to full guard.
Corleone trying to control the position from guard on top but Socrates is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Corleone dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Corleone shoots in and gets a takedown into Socrates's guard. Corleone distracts Socrates with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Socrates keeping full guard, as Corleone tries to pass. Socrates wants to stand but Corleone is controlling the position. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Socrates is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Corleone is controlling him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Daniel Socrates seems to be getting the better of the standup. Socrates misses with the combination.
Corleone appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Socrates swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Corleone counters with a thumping low kick. Corleone instigates a clinch. Corleone keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Socrates's efforts to push away. Corleone landing knees to the head.

Corleone has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Socrates clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Socrates is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Socrates is taking damage to the body and head. Corleone trying to control. Corleone controlling from the back. Socrates is trying to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corleone is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Socrates is trying to get back to his feet but Corleone has full control of the position and if anything, Socrates has just worked his way into a worse spot. Corleone really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Socrates. Socrates trying to get back to his feet but Corleone is in full control for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Corleone biding his time, looking for the opening.
Socrates won't enjoy being in this position. Corleone looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Socrates is tapping - it's over boys! Corleone picks up the submission victory!
