Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Capt Kangaroo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kangaroo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cryin' Like A Bitch-Godsmackack kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Capt Kangaroo! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kangaroo throws a lazy body kick and Freeman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Freeman digs a good body shot into Kangaroo's ribs. Freeman connects with a nice looking jab.
Freeman scores with a punch to the head. Kangaroo scores with a jab to the jaw. Freeman scores with the left hand. Kangaroo knows he should have avoided that one. Freeman cracks Kangaroo with a right hand to the side of the head. We've been informed that Kangaroo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Kangaroo lands a head kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kangaroo throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Freeman throws out a powerful jab. Kangaroo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Freeman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kangaroo on the side of the head. Kangaroo moves forwards but Freeman connects with a nice, crisp jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kangaroo misses with a kick to the body.
Kangaroo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kangaroo there as he acknowledges the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kangaroo slips under a jab. Freeman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kangaroo sees it coming and avoids it easily. Freeman is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Freeman connects with a crisp jab. Kangaroo thows a leg kick but Freeman checks it and Freeman counters with a stiff right hand. Freeman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kangaroo. Kangaroo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Freeman connects with a body shot. Kangaroo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Freeman. Capt Kangaroo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kangaroo ducks under a wild hook from Freeman. Freeman steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kangaroo. That one must have hurt. Freeman misses with a series of wild punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kangaroo throws the kick towards the body but Freeman avoids it. Freeman is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Kangaroo takes one on the chin but seems OK.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kangaroo throws a series of punches but Freeman moves out of range. An attempted straight right counter from Freeman misses the target. A head kick misses from Kangaroo. Kangaroo scores with a kick to the body.

Freeman ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Freeman lands the left hand. Kangaroo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Freeman, as that shot connected.
Frank Freeman is winning the standup battle so far. Freeman connects with a body shot. Kangaroo moves away from the strike by Freeman. Kangaroo walks into a stiff left hand from Freeman. Freeman looks to score with a jab to the body but Kangaroo is just out of range. Freeman throws a shot from downtown. Kangaroo moves away and avoids it. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kangaroo!

and Freeman counters by clinching up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Freeman throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kangaroos head. Freeman is trying to force a seperation but Kangaroo has the dominant position. Kangaroo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Freeman cracks Kangaroo with an open hand slap. Freeman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kangaroo can do to turn this around? Kangaroo throws a head kick that Freeman semi-blocks.
Kangaroo looks to throw a body kick and Freeman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kangaroo slips under a jab from Freeman. Freeman scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Freeman lands with a nice combination. Kangaroo backs away looking to recover. Freeman works Kangaroo's body with a nice hook. Kangaroo throws a leg kick which misses Freeman's front leg but catches the back leg as Freeman tries to avoid it. Kangaroo misses with a head kick.
Kangaroo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kangaroo throws a head kick that misses. Freeman is looking to counter punch. Kangaroo is breathing heavily. Freeman blocks a low kick nicely. Freeman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Kangaroo swings and misses with a shot to the body letting Freeman counter with a right hand. Freeman lunges at Kangaroo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kangaroo's hand. A thudding body kick lands there by Kangaroo!
Freeman scores with a jab to the body. Freeman tries to bum rush Kangaroo with a series of wild strikes but Kangaroo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Freeman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Kangaroo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Freeman throws a big shot that misses. Freeman misses with an uppercut. Kangaroo saw that one coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kangaroo staying out of range there. Freeman bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kangaroo's head. Kangaroo is looking to slow Freeman down with leg kicks. A big right from Freeman misses. Kangaroo is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kangaroo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Freeman. Freeman is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Capt Kangaroo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Freeman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Freeman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kangaroo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Kangaroo throws a body kick that misses and Freeman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kangaroo thinking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kangaroo throws a wild body kick that Freeman sees coming a mile off. Kangaroo takes one to the side of the head.
Freeman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kangaroo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. No joy there for Freeman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Freeman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Freeman closes the distance and lands a one-two. Kangaroo scores with a spinning back kick! Freeman scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Kangaroo throws a half hearted mid kick. A head kick by Kangaroo misses and Freeman counters with a nice uppercut. Freeman lands with an uppercut that bounces Kangaroo off the cage and back into range. Freeman avoids the head kick by Kangaroo.

Kangaroo appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Kangaroo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Kangaroo throws a lazy head kick and Freeman counters with a stiff right hand. Kangaroo throws a sloppy head kick and Freeman moves out of range easily. Freeman seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Freeman digs a good body shot into Kangaroo's ribs. Kangaroo tries to land a body kick and Freeman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A punch lands to the side of Kangaroo 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kangaroo is rocked! Kangaroo is looking to chop away at Freeman's legs. Freeman is looking to counter the offense by Kangaroo and move into the clinch. Kangaroo is still on wobbly legs! Can Freeman finish him? Freeman jabs Kangaroo right on the nose. Kangaroo blinks but takes it well. Freeman throws an overhand right that drops Kangaroo like a sack of potatoes! Freeman dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Freeman! During a confident post fight interview, Frank Freeman thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. The defeated Capt Kangaroo had this to say: 'I wonder how much he paid the ref?'.
