Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hershel Calhoun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomas Koler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomas Koler will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hershel Calhoun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomas Koler! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koler lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Calhoun really is a fat lump. Koler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Koler showed some decent athleticism there. Calhoun is refusing to be controlled, as Koler sits in half guard. Calhoun is looking to improve his position.
Calhoun is working hard here to advance position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koler is working for a kimura but Calhoun is defending it quite comfortably.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calhoun is refusing to be controlled, as Koler sits in half guard. Koler tries to stand but can't do so whilst Calhoun controls his leg.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Calhoun tries to move into range but Koler moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Koler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Calhoun. Koler shoots in and gets a takedown into Calhoun's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calhoun wants to sweep but no luck. Calhoun punching from the bottom. Calhoun keeping moving, preventing Koler from controlling successfully. Calhoun is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Koler is controlling him. Calhoun utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Calhoun throws his legs up looking for a submission but Koler uses it to pass to side control.
Koler is looking to take a break and control but Calhoun is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Calhoun tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Koler wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Calhoun tries to kick Koler off but Koler keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Koler prevents Calhoun from improving his position. Calhoun looking for submissions off his back. Koler looks winded! Calhoun is looking to improve his position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Calhoun swats away the attempt to clinch by Koler. Calhoun drives through and clinches with Koler against the cage.
Koler is trying to break free. Koler is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Calhoun pulls guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tomas Koler dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Koler drives through with a takedown into guard. Calhoun has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Koler is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Koler jumps guard and drags Calhoun to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Koler is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Calhoun makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Calhoun decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Calhoun closes the distance and clinches. Koler has picked Calhoun up - he's going for a ride! Koler dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Calhoun has one foot on Koler's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Koler is breathing heavily. Calhoun jumps guard and drags Koler to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Calhoun is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Koler is aware though and is defending well. Koler stops Calhoun from standing up. Calhoun looking to hit a scissor sweep but Koler is one step ahead there. Calhoun being controlled here, momentarily. Calhoun throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calhoun striking off his back but it's not causing Koler any problems. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Calhoun wants to sweep but no luck. Calhoun has his foot on Koler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Koler works his way back into a safe position though. Calhoun working for a triangle but Koler defends it easily.
Calhoun is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Calhoun controlling the action here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Calhoun looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Calhoun controlling the action here. Koler is trying to control but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Calhoun wants to work for an arm triangle but Koler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Calhoun scoring with strikes to the body and head. Calhoun is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Calhoun slips a nice elbow through Koler's hands, connecting with Koler's forehead. Koler taking some punishment here, with Calhoun in his half guard. Koler is looking to improve his position.
