Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fritz St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Dux. No joy for St Pierre on that attempt. Dux keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dux misses with a double jab.
Dux tries to bum rush St Pierre with a series of wild strikes but St Pierre uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dux throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
St Pierre shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dux as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fritz St Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Left hook, right uppercut from St Pierre. St Pierre shoots in and bounces Dux off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Dux tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dux looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Dux might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control St Pierre kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Dux has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but St Pierre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dux is pulling down on St Pierre's head. It's preventing any offense from St Pierre, at least for the moment. Dux is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Despite being in the dominant position, Frank Dux just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dux throws a combination but it was largely blocked by St Pierre. St Pierre fails miserably with a takedown attempt. St Pierre looks for a takedown but Dux sprawls well. Dux misses with a double jab
and St Pierre counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dux looks gassed! Dux is trying to control the position but St Pierre postures up. Dux is looking for a triangle here but St Pierre uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dux is trying to control St Pierre's posture but St Pierre avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. St Pierre decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dux to his feet. St Pierre looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. St Pierre thows a body shot but no joy. St Pierre drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. St Pierre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dux on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. St Pierre tries to free his leg and advance position but Dux is retaining full guard. St Pierre throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dux throws a leg kick letting St Pierre counter with a right hand. St Pierre throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nice sprawl there from Dux as St Pierre shoots in. Dux misses with a straight right. St Pierre takes a swing at Dux's ribcage but misses. St Pierre misses with a double jab.

Dux swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and St Pierre is now in Dux's guard. A big mistake from Dux there, giving up the dominant position! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. St Pierre pushing down on Dux's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Dux is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. St Pierre drops an elbow to the side of Dux's head. Dux is looking for a sweep. St Pierre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dux has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. St Pierre is working away from the top position though. St Pierre is nestled in close to Dux, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dux is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but St Pierre pulls his head out easily. St Pierre wants to work for an arm triangle but Dux is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dux is trying to get back to full guard. St Pierre wants to pass to mount but Dux is defending the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. St Pierre with a poor takedown and Dux counters with a left and a right that stings St Pierre. A combination from St Pierre does no damage. Dux avoids a punch combination nicely.
St Pierre lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dux at a distance.

St Pierre tries for a takedown but Dux sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fritz St Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him. St Pierre shoots in for a double leg but Dux sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. St Pierre will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. No luck for St Pierre with that takedown attempt. Dux throws a hook but St Pierre blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Frank Dux will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. St Pierre has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dux working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. St Pierre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. St Pierre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dux throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dux throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. St Pierre tries to lock up and control but Dux gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Dux moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, St Pierre has worked his arm free - good work by St Pierre!

Dux trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. St Pierre is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. St Pierre trying to strike off his back.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dux stopping the sweep attempt from St Pierre. Dux sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed St Pierre's guard. Dux thows a huge punch but St Pierre dodges it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight! Frank Dux comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dux has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
