Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergei Tatarinov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Khal Drogo! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drogo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tatarinov. Drogo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tatarinov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Drogo connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tatarinov's hands. Drogo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Tatarinov looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Drogo passes into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drogo trying to control the position but Tatarinov is working away. That's one minute gone in the round. Drogo in side control, just content to control the action for now. Drogo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tatarinov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Drogo but great work by Tatarinov. Tatarinov trying to control the action but Drogo is working from the bottom. Drogo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Drogo tries to roll over but Tatarinov keeps him under control. Drogo works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drogo wants to sweep here but Tatarinov controlling him for the moment. Tatarinov wants to stand but Drogo has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Drogo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tatarinov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Drogo is tightening it up a little... Tatarinov has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Tatarinov reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Tatarinov taps out! Nice BJJ there by Drogo!
