Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vic Chai Big Chop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jose Lopez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vic Chai Big Chop! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Big Chop gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Lopez moves into the clinch. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Lopez obliges. Lopez lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Big Chop backwards. Lopez breaks the clinch.
Jose Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Big Chop manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lopez on his heels. He'll look to pass Lopez's guard now, I'm sure. Lopez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Big Chop is controlling him. Lopez striking off his back but it's not causing Big Chop any problems. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lopez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Big Chop can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lopez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Big Chop on the ground. Lopez can't keep his opponent in guard - Big Chop advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lopez is not content to let Big Chop control the position. Lopez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Big Chop controlling the action here. Big Chop frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lopez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lopez is trying desperately to improve position. Big Chop seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Lopez is holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lopez is wriggling around trying to escape.
Big Chop trying to control but he's not successful this time. Big Chop has control of Lopez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lopez regains control of the situation pretty easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Big Chop trying to control but he's not successful this time. Big Chop sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Let's hope that Big Chop has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Lopez is squirming around, avoiding Big Chop's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lopez gets back to half guard. Big Chop trying to control from half guard but Lopez is working away. Lopez tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Big Chop has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Big Chop sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vic Chai Big Chop dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nice body kick from Lopez. Lopez moves into the clinch. Lopez is pushing Big Chop up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Lopez has hold of one of Big Chop's legs. Big Chop is fighting the takedown attempt but Lopez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Big Chop looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lopez works his way back into a safe position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lopez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lopez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Big Chop is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Lopez frees his head nicely. Oh but Big Chop has switched to an armbar! Lopez is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
