Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kendrik Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Arg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down comes to the cage accompanied by Let's Go. Sven Arg is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kendrik Down! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sven Arg! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arg scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Down doesn't seem bothered though. Arg throws a front kick aimed at Down's knee but Down avoids it well. Down lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Down connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Arg's hands. Down ducks under a wild hook from Arg. Donk. Down catches Arg right on the button with a cross. Down closes the distance and clinches. Arg has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Down is pushing Arg up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Down lands with a left to the head. Down lands a left hand that snaps the head of Arg backwards. Arg wants to break free but Down has control.
Down keeps control of Arg as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Arg's face as he tries to break the clinch. Arg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arg fails to land the takedown. Sven Arg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arg wants to clinch up but Down keeps it at a distance. Arg on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Down tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arg was well out of range. Poor timing from Down. Nice uppercut lands for Arg. That snapped Down's head back.
Down feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Down is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Westside Martial Arts that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Down is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Arg being controlled here, momentarily. Arg preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Down distracts Arg with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arg can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Down is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Down works over Arg with some ground and pound from guard. Down controlling from the top position. Arg has momentary wrist control but Down slips an elbow through the middle. Down seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Down landing with the ground and pound. Down stands up over Arg, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Down lands a couple of decent looking shots. Down is stalling in the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Arg has momentary wrist control but Down slips an elbow through the middle. Down has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Arg can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Down controls the pace. Down scoring with punches to the head and body. Down is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Down lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Down scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Down content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Down makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Good standup being displayed there by Down as he connects with a hook. Arg is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
A low kick from Arg misses and Down counters with a nice uppercut. Arg thuds a left hand into Down's body. Arg throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Down sees it coming and avoids it easily. Down connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Arg defending well as Down loads up on a big left hand. Down scores with a jab to the jaw. Down on the wrong end of a nice jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Arg moves forwards but Down connects with a nice, crisp jab. Arg tries to close the distance and clinch up but Down swats him away and circles back towards the center. Arg wants to clinch up but Down keeps it at a distance. It looked like Down wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Kendrik Down is winning the standup battle so far. The crowd cheers as Down lands an impressive looking overhand right. Arg doesn't seem phased though. The fight stays on the outside here - Arg looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Down lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Down misses with a wild body shot. Down scores with a jab to the jaw. Down tries to move into range but Arg moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A slow jab from Arg misses its intended target. Down changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Arg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Down connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Arg some visible discomfort.
Down lands a nice forearm strike. Down is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Arg can do to turn this around? Down lands a few punches from side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Arg is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Down has just dragged him back down to the mat. Arg takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Arg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Down. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Arg takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Kendrik Down overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. A lull in the action here. Arg takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
