Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rayjay Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mondo comes to the cage accompanied by No Fear by j57. The crowd seem to be enjoying Carter's choice of entrance music: Black Betty. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Mondo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rayjay Carter! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mondo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Carter has his foot on Mondo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mondo works his way back into a safe position though. Carter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mondo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Carter wants to stand and escape but Mondo is having none of it. Carter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mondo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mondo trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom. Carter wants to stand but Mondo is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mondo's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Mondo wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mondo chips away with some ground and pound. Carter is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Carter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mondo.

Mondo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Carter uses from the top position. Mondo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter wants to control from the top but Mondo keeps moving. Mondo working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter wants to pass the guard but Mondo is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mondo keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully. Carter with a flurry of punches that miss.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mondo bucks up and tries to throw Carter off but instead Carter has got his back! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carter is looking for the choke from the back position but Mondo is controlling his hands well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I would not like to be Mondo right now.

Mondo landing with the ground and pound. Carter wants to improve his position but instead Mondo has moved into half guard.
Carter wants to control but Mondo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Mondo has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mondo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mondo. Mondo scoring with strikes to the body and head. Mondo scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Carter looking for subs from the bottom but Mondo mounts him! Mondo landing strikes from the mount and Carter is in trouble! Mondo controlling from mount. Carter is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Mondo dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mondo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carter swivels and escapes. Mondo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carter's guard. Carter has his feet on Mondo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Mondo looks to score with a jab to the body but Carter is just out of range. Mondo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carter wants to control but Mondo is keeping busy.
Mike Mondo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mondo winds up and cracks Carter with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Carter wants to control but Mondo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Carter is looking to improve his position.
Carter regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mondo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mondo lands a couple of digs. Mondo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mondo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mondo tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard. Mondo throws a big elbow that misses. Mondo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mondo scoring with some ground and pound. Carter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mondo defends it easily. Carter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Mondo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mondo throws a big elbow that misses. Mondo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Carter sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Carter is looking for a sweep. Mondo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Carter is trying to maintain the position but Mondo is very close to passing his half guard. Carter pushes Mondo off and gets back to his feet. Mondo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carter was covering up waiting for the punch and Mondo finishes the takedown easily into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mondo scoring with some ground and pound. Mondo landing some decent shots from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Carter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mondo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Carter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mondo chips away with some ground and pound. Mondo sitting in guard, not really doing much. Carter pushes Mondo off and gets back to his feet.
Mondo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Mondo seems content to control. Carter wants to get back to his feet. Mondo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mondo working Carter over with strikes. Mondo tries to pass to full mount but Carter defends it. Carter trying to control from the bottom.
Carter moves into full guard.
Mondo trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mike Mondo will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Carter tries to close the distance and clinch but Mondo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mondo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carter defends well and Mondo ends up having to push Carter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mike Mondo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mondo. Mondo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Carter is trying to control Mondo's posture but Mondo avoids it. Mondo tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Carter is not content to let Mondo control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mondo is trying to move to mount but Carter reverses beautifully and ends up in Mondo's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter is looking to work some ground and pound but Mondo has wrist control. Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Mondo is retaining full guard. Carter gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Mike Mondo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Carter tries to keep at a distance but Mondo has taken the fight into the clinch. Carter is trying to stall.
Mondo gets a trip takedown into half guard. Carter pushes Mondo off and gets back to his feet. Carter slaps away a takedown attempt from Mondo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mondo to the ground. Carter is now in Mondo's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mondo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Carter looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Mondo is retaining full guard. Carter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Carter wants to control from the top but Mondo keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Mondo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mondo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mondo tries to get out of the position. Carter wants to stand but Mondo is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mondo darts in looking for a takedown but Carter gets double underhooks and turns Mondo into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Mondo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carter prevents Mondo from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mondo is not content to let Carter control the position. Carter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mondo has managed to free his arm - good work. Mondo flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Rayjay Carter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carter is thwarting Mondo's attempts to control the position. Mike Mondo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mondo wants to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Rayjay Carter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mondo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
