The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mitchell.
It looks like Chozen Toguchi has been cut.
Mitchell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Toguchi circles away quickly and effectively.
Toguchi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mitchell defends well and Toguchi ends up having to push Mitchell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Toguchi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mitchell's waist but Mitchell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Toguchi off to one side.

Toguchi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
