The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks connects with a body shot.
Brooks fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Alabama has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Alabama takes a jab right on the kisser.
Alabama looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Brooks throws a leg kick which misses Alabama's front leg but catches the back leg as Alabama tries to avoid it.
Alabama with a lazy takedown attempt
and Brooks counters with a one-two to the body.
Huell Alabama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alabama shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brooks sprawls well. Brooks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alabama gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Huell Alabama. That's going to take a lot out of him.
