PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Miues Rafki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ryder's choice of entrance music: Country Boy by Aaron Lewis. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rafki has a takedown stuffed.

Ryder unleashes a big counter combination but Rafki bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Ryder has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rafki has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryder wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rafki has him pressed against the cage.
Ryder misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Rafki.

Rafki has clasped his hands together around Ryder's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ryder tries to escape but Rafki is in control.

Rafki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rafki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ryder is not content to let Rafki control the position.
Ryder is looking for a sweep.
Rafki wants to control but Ryder is keeping him busy.

Rafki has hold of Ryder's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ryder tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rafki cranks the arm and Ryder screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ryder, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Miues Rafki!
In defeat, William Ryder stepped up to the mic, saying 'I am sorry next time I will break his arm'.
