The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steelers throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mc Elroy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mc Elroy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Mc Elroy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Steelers has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mc Elroy is defended easily by Steelers.
Steelers lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Mc Elroy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steelers circles away.
Mc Elroy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mc Elroy throws an overhand right that lands on Steelers's shoulder, as Steelers tries to avoid the shot.
Steelers throws a series of punches but Mc Elroy moves out of range.
Steelers uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mc Elroy.
Steelers throws a jab but it's blocked by Mc Elroy.
Mc Elroy changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Mc Elroy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steelers is fending him off so far but Mc Elroy persists. Nope, Steelers circles away and we're back to standing.
Pittsburgh Steelers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Mc Elroy.
Mc Elroy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Steelers sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mc Elroy dives in and grabs Steelers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Steelers pushes down on Mc Elroy's head and hops out.
Steelers attempts a counter takedown but Mc Elroy avoids it well and moves away.
Mc Elroy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Steelers defends it nicely.

Mc Elroy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mc Elroy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Mc Elroy is trying to get an arm triangle but Steelers is defending well.
Steelers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mc Elroy on the ground.

Mc Elroy is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Steelers is trying to escape and Mc Elroy transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Steelers is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mc Elroy! Very nice indeed!

A very excited looking Danny Mc Elroy made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Pittsburgh Steelers was interviewed post fight and said 'I can not believe he beat me. Fuck!'.
