Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Ferrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valentin Shovkovskyj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wilson Ferrall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Valentin Shovkovskyj! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferrall closes the distance and clinches. Ferrall drags the fight down to the ground.
Shovkovskyj postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Ferrall is trying to keep Shovkovskyj in close.
Ferrall working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shovkovskyj. Ferrall looking to control.
Shovkovskyj is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ferrall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shovkovskyj wants to control from the top but Ferrall keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shovkovskyj is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Shovkovskyj trying to control the position from guard on top but Ferrall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ferrall throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Shovkovskyj escapes and throws Ferrall's legs to the side, diving into side control! Shovkovskyj thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Shovkovskyj goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Ferrall rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shovkovskyj's guard! Nice work there by Ferrall! Ferrall wants to control from the top but Shovkovskyj keeps moving. Shovkovskyj is pulling down on Ferrall's head to control his posture. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shovkovskyj is on top in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ferrall had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shovkovskyj defends it easily. Ferrall looking for a sweep. Not yet Ferrall, not yet. Shovkovskyj working some strikes from top position. Shovkovskyj drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shovkovskyj jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Shovkovskyj drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ferrall dives on top into guard. Shovkovskyj is striking from the bottom but Ferrall uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Shovkovskyj tries to roll over but Ferrall keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferrall trying to control the action but Shovkovskyj is working from the bottom. Shovkovskyj kicks Ferrall off and gets back to his feet. Ferrall shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shovkovskyj counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shovkovskyj. Ferrall manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Shovkovskyj leaves Ferrall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Shovkovskyj with the counter takedown but Ferrall avoids it easily. Ferrall misses with a takedown attempt - Shovkovskyj sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wilson Ferrall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ferrall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shovkovskyj as he avoids it easily. Ferrall gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Shovkovskyj lands a takedown into guard.
Ferrall pushes Shovkovskyj off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ferrall is defended easily by Shovkovskyj. Ferrall clinches up with Shovkovskyj and pushes him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Wilson Ferrall will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Ferrall tries to sprawl but Shovkovskyj drives through with a takedown into half guard. Wilson Ferrall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shovkovskyj prevents Ferrall from improving his position. Ferrall is trying to stand back up but Shovkovskyj is controlling him
Shovkovskyj wants to control but Ferrall is keeping him busy. Shovkovskyj landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Shovkovskyj throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Shovkovskyj is trying to work for a kimura but Ferrall is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ferrall is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shovkovskyj pulls his head out easily. Ferrall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shovkovskyj is working away from the top position though. Ferrall works his way to full guard. Good work. Shovkovskyj looking to pass the guard. Shovkovskyj wants to control from the top but Ferrall keeps moving. Shovkovskyj connects with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Shovkovskyj passes Ferrall's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Shovkovskyj is thwarting Ferrall's attempts to control the position. Ferrall looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Ferrall manages to escape and get back to his feet! Ferrall shoots in and drives through. Shovkovskyj sprawls well. Ferrall connects with a body shot. Horrible takedown attempt by Ferrall or perhaps it was just good defense by Shovkovskyj, which made it look bad. Shovkovskyj changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferrall fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Shovkovskyj tries a quick counter leg kick but Ferrall is wise to it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wilson Ferrall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shovkovskyj slaps away a takedown attempt from Ferrall, before circling back to the center of the mat. Shovkovskyj clinches up with Ferrall and pushes him back against the cage. Shovkovskyj leaning his opponent against the cage. Shovkovskyj has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ferrall is trying to keep an underhook but Shovkovskyj manages to get the takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shovkovskyj is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ferrall defends it well. Shovkovskyj is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Ferrall is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
