Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Annibal Hector (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hector is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Country Boy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenta Kobashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Annibal Hector!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hector misses with a hook.
Kobashi throws the left hand but Hector avoids the punch easily.
Kobashi misses with a series of wild punches.
A little jabbing left from Hector on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kobashi throws a jab when Hector was well out of range.
Kobashi throws a leg kick but Hector checks it.
Kobashi is looking to land body kicks.
Hector misses with a head kick.
Kobashi tried to score with a low kick but Hector checks it.
Kobashi connects with a solid leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kenta Kobashi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hector moves into the clinch.

Hector has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kobashi clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Kobashi is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Hector off. It looks like it's working - Hector slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Kobashi displaying calm under pressure there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Hector obliges.

Hector has Kobashi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kobashi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

I was talking to Kobashi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Kobashi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hector lands a glancing blow to the side of Kobashi's head.
Kenta Kobashi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hector on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Kobashi lands with a shot to the body.
Kobashi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hector.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kenta Kobashi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kobashi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hector can do to turn this around?

Hector tries to close the distance and clinch but Kobashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kobashi swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Kobashi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hector looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kobashi looks to score with a jab to the body but Hector is just out of range.
Kobashi throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Kobashi moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromHector.
Hector looks to clinch
and Kobashi counters with a big head kick but Hector shrugs it off.
Kobashi's corner calls for a 1-2. Kobashi obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


Hector is rocked!
Hector tries to get into range but Kobashi steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Hector! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Kobashi scores the big KO victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kenta Kobashi!
Annibal Hector was interviewed post fight and said 'Don't Give Up!!! Just Do It!!!'.
