These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landers fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Landers's corner calls for a 1-2. Landers obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Christopher throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mike Landers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Landers throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Christopher on the side of the head.
Landers moves into range and connects with a jab.

Christopher pushes Landers up against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Landers creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Landers lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Christopher backwards.

Christopher can't find room to land a body shot as Landers controls the action.

Landers has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Christopher regains guard immediately.

Landers works over Christopher with some ground and pound from guard.
Landers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Landers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Landers gets to his feet and stands over Christopher, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Christopher felt that one! Landers unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Christopher from any more punishment!
