Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamillo Bagutbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson Gracie has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jackson Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jamillo Bagutbot!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bagutbot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to avoid it but Bagutbot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gracie to the ground. Gracie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bagutbot sprawls and moves away.
Gracie throws a jab but it's blocked by Bagutbot.
Gracie missing with a left hand there. Bagutbot was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gracie misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Bagutbot counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bagutbot.
Gracie is looking to take this one to the mat.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Bagutbot won't allow it.
Gracie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Gracie blocks the elbow strike.
Bagutbot cracks Gracie with a nice body shot.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Gracie won't allow Bagutbot to get back to his feet.
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gracie stands up over Bagutbot, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bagutbot is trying to keep Gracie in close.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Bagutbot is retaining full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Gracie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bagutbot fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gracie tries to counter with a takedown but Bagutbot is quick to defend against it.
Bagutbot seems to have recovered his senses.
Gracie throws a low kick, looking for Bagutbot's leg but Bagutbot calmly moves out of range.
Gracie throws a body shot but no joy.

Gracie gets tackled into the cage by Bagutbot. Bagutbot maintains the clinch.
Gracie is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bagutbot can do to turn this around?

Bagutbot gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Bagutbot wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bagutbot has taken the fight to the clinch.
Gracie trying to stall but Bagutbot improves his position.
Gracie is looking to control Bagutbot's arms but Bagutbot gets an underhook and turns him. Now Gracie has his back to the cage.
Maybe Gracie would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
Gracie wants to get back to striking at distance but Bagutbot won't allow it.
Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bagutbot pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Bagutbot is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bagutbot loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Bagutbot shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard.
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bagutbot has passed into side control.

Jackson Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bagutbot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
