The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbu lands a leg kick that knocks Silva off balance momentarily.

Barbu is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Silva is defending well for now.

Barbu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Silva has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barbu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Dragomir Barbu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Silva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Barbu - the referee stops the clock and Silva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Barbu. Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Whack! Barbu lands a heavy head kick that drops Silva. The ref tackles Barbu to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Silva was done.
