Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Erkka Pajulahti!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Illya Tyunina and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Pajulahti shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Pajulahti scoring with some ground and pound.

Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pajulahti throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pajulahti is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Pajulahti wants to sweep but no luck.

Pajulahti looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Pajulahti wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pajulahti works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from Johnson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Pajulahti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pajulahti lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Pajulahti stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Johnson has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Pajulahti manages to get his head free but now Johnson has transitioned to an armbar! Pajulahti grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Johnson! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roy Johnson!
