Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cannon darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Ruiz throws a right and a left that Cannon avoids nicely.
A little feinted left hand from Cannon on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ruiz tries a head kick but it misses.
Ruiz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ruiz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cannon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ruiz lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Ruiz ducks right into an uppercut from Cannon.
Some wild striking there from Ruiz.
Ruiz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ruiz throws a head kick that misses
and Cannon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cannon stops Ruiz from standing up.
Cannon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
A lull in the action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruiz tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ruiz seems a little lost for a moment, as Cannon dominates the positioning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cannon misses with the ground and pound.
Ruiz is being controlled here.
Ruiz is pushing Cannon's head away, looking to escape. Cannon manages to hold on to the position though.

Cannon advances nicely into full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cannon in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Cannon tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ruiz tries to lock up and control but Cannon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Cannon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ruiz tries to improve his position but Cannon has taken his back! Cannon has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Ruiz tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Cannon pushes Ruiz away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
