Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jaakko Savolainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimble Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savolainen comes to the cage accompanied by Winning. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaakko Savolainen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
37 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kimble Cho! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savolainen tries to clinch but fails miserably and Savolainen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Jaakko Savolainen has been cut. Cho throws a leg kick which misses Savolainen's front leg but catches the back leg as Savolainen tries to avoid it. Savolainen throws a leg kick but Cho moved away. Cho lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Savolainen gets a double leg takedown into Cho's guard. Cho pulls Savolainen in to control the position. Savolainen has gone for a leg lock! Cho slips out almost immediately though and dives into Savolainen's guard.

He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Savolainen off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Savolainen working for the choke. Savolainen is looking for the choke from the back position but Cho is controlling his hands well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Savolainen is persistently looking for the submission but Cho is defending it well.
Cho manages to reverse the position and now he's in Savolainen's guard. Nice work there by Cho.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Savolainen is looking for a triangle here but Cho uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Cho tests Savolainen's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Savolainen tries for a takedown but Cho sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cho! But no joy. Savolainen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Jaakko Savolainen's cut is getting worse. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaakko Savolainen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Savolainen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Savolainen wants to advance to full mount but Cho doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Savolainen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cho is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Savolainen, into his guard.
Savolainen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cho has picked Savolainen up and slammed him! Savolainen can't keep hold of the triangle and Cho manages to pass to side control! Cho decides to stand up, so the ref orders Savolainen to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Cho. No joy for Savolainen on that attempt. A little jabbing left from Cho on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Nice body punch from Cho. Savolainen with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cho to score with a decent uppercut. This has been an exciting period of action! Savolainen takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Savolainen lands the left hand. Cho has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Cho chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Savolainen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cho manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Savolainen has Cho in his guard. Cho is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cho gets to his feet - Savolainen follows without any prompting. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Savolainen. Cho cracks Savolainen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Savolainen shoots in looking for a takedown but Cho manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Savolainen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nice sprawl there from Cho as Savolainen shoots in. Cho's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cho's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Nice shot lands for Cho. Cho stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cho wants it to stay on the feet. Cho is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Jaakko Savolainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cho scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Savolainen takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Cho lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Cho chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Jaakko Savolainen's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Savolainen with a poor takedown and Cho counters with a body kick that stops Savolainen in his tracks momentarily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A jab from Cho finds it's way through Savolainen's defenses. Cho jabs Savolainen right on the nose. Savolainen blinks but takes it well. Cho dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cho lands an overhand right. Cho connects with a body shot that sends Savolainen's belly button to the back. Savolainen fails with the takedown letting Cho counter with a right hand.
Jeez, Jaakko Savolainen's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Cho dips to his left and cracks Savolainen with an uppercut!
Savolainen is rocked! Savolainen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cho throws a front kick that sends Savolainen stumbling back into the cage. Savolainen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Oh Savolainen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Savolainen tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Savolainen seems to have got his legs back now. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cho.
Cho with a body punch. A glancing blow. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cho uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Savolainen. Cho is looking for the big counter here. Cho throws a sloppy head kick and Savolainen moves out of range easily. Cho drops Savolainen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Savolainen looks back up at him and smiles so Cho waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kimble Cho showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jaakko Savolainen's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Savolainen drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cho dives on top into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Savolainen tries to get back to half guard but can't. Savolainen is working hard here to advance position. Savolainen sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Jaakko Savolainen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cho is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Kimble Cho is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Cho postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Savolainen to stand up.
And that's the end of the fight! Kimble Cho comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cho has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
