Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyndon Blackwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiji Jon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyndon Blackwell has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lyndon Blackwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luiji Jon!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackwell slaps away a takedown attempt from Jon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Blackwell looks to score with a jab to the body but Jon is just out of range.

Jon forces Blackwell back against the cage and clinches.
Blackwell is trying to pull guard but Jon turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Blackwell tries to pull guard but Jon forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Blackwell wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jon pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Blackwell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jon tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Blackwell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blackwell has managed to get both his arms back between Jon's legs - danger averted.

Blackwell fails with an attempt to clinch.

It looks like Lyndon Blackwell has been cut.
Blackwell dives in for a single leg takedown but Jon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyndon Blackwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Blackwell is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Blackwell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Blackwell appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Jon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blackwell sprawls well. Blackwell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jon gets slowly back to his feet.

Blackwell closes the distance and pushes Jon back into the cage.
Blackwell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jon smiles and moves away.

Blackwell gets tackled into the cage by Jon. Jon maintains the clinch.
Jon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jon lands a left hand that snaps the head of Blackwell backwards.
Blackwell jumps guard but Jon turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Blackwell is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jon can't fight it off and eventually Blackwell manages to take the fight to the floor. Jon looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jon has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Blackwell is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Blackwell fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Blackwell tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jon smiles and moves away.
Jon thows a body kick. Blackwell tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Sloppy strikes from Jon. Those never looked like landing.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jon or perhaps it was just good defense by Blackwell, which made it look bad.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blackwell circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blackwell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jon's waist but Jon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blackwell off to one side.
Jon darts in looking for a takedown but Blackwell gets double underhooks and turns Jon into the cage.
Jon looks winded!
Blackwell tries to score with a low kick but Jon moves his leg out of the way.
Jon fails with a takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Blackwell as Jon shoots in.
Blackwell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jon avoids it really well and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luiji Jon dominated that round.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Some bone on bone action there as Blackwell checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Blackwell takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Jon moves into the clinch.
Jon goes for a takedown attempt but Blackwell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Blackwell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lyndon Blackwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiji Jon.
Blackwell tries to pull guard but Jon forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Jon is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blackwell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blackwell pinned against the cage. Blackwell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Blackwell closes the distance and clinches up with Jon, looking for a takedown. Blackwell pushes Jon against the cage but Jon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It seemed like Jon was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Blackwell tries to clinch there but Jon circles away.
Blackwell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jon stuffs the takedown.
Jon lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Jon clinches.
Blackwell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Blackwell fires out a quick counter leg kick but Jon just manages to avoid it.
Blackwell stuffs the takedown attempt from Jon. Jon gets slowly back to his feet.
As Jon tries to get set, Blackwell tries to push him back and clinch up but Jon manages to avoid the attempt.
Blackwell goes for a double leg but Jon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jon continues to drive forward.
Blackwell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blackwell tries to avoid it but Jon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blackwell to the ground. Blackwell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Blackwell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jon tries to clinch but Blackwell is having none of it.
Blackwell feinted with a counter takedown.
Jon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blackwell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Blackwell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jon.
Blackwell seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Blackwell shoots in but no luck this time.
Blackwell darts in looking for a takedown but Jon gets double underhooks and turns Blackwell into the cage.
Jon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Blackwell throws a head kick that misses.
Jon tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Blackwell defends well and Jon ends up having to push Blackwell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jon walks into a stiff left hand from Blackwell.
Jon shoots for a takedown but Blackwell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Blackwell shoots in but no luck this time.
Jon drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Blackwell defends it well.

Jon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jon stalling.

Jon is trying to work for a kimura but Blackwell is defending well.

Blackwell moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Blackwell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Jon makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blackwell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Good leg kick by Jon there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luiji Jon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Blackwell tries to keep at a distance but Jon has taken the fight into the clinch.
Jon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Blackwell gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jon pulls guard successfully.
Blackwell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Blackwell landing with the ground and pound.
Jon wants to sweep but no luck.
Blackwell postures up and lands a big shot to Jon's brow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blackwell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jon is trying to keep Blackwell in close.

Blackwell wants to get up but he can't break Jon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jon manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Blackwell pulls guard successfully.
Blackwell is looking to sweep but instead, Jon has passed into half guard.
Blackwell throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Jon trying to control from half guard but Blackwell is working away.
Blackwell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jon postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Blackwell to stand up.

Nice takedown defense from Jon. No joy for Blackwell on that attempt.
Jon shoots and misses

and Blackwell moves into the clinch.
Jon is pushing Blackwell up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Blackwell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jon connects with a high kick.
Luiji Jon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jon fails to land with a series of punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blackwell wants to clinch.

Blackwell fails with the takedown.
Jon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Lyndon Blackwell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luiji Jon.
Blackwell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jon is fending him off so far but Blackwell persists. Nope, Jon circles away and we're back to standing.
Blackwell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jon paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jon leaves Blackwell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Luiji Jon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Blackwell darts in looking for a takedown but Jon gets double underhooks and turns Blackwell into the cage.

Jon rushes Blackwell and presses him up against the cage.
Blackwell is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jon to keep the fight standing.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Jon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lyndon Blackwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Luiji Jon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Jon obliges.

Luiji Jon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
