Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Davies!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez is looking to slow Davies down with leg kicks.
Jimenez thumps Davies with a low kick.
Jimenez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jimenez checks a leg kick.
Davies takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Davies on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jimenez. Jimenez obviously looking to wear him down.
Jimenez misses with a wild combination.
Jimenez darts in and clinches Davies up against the cage.
Jimenez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Davies throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jimenez's waist but Jimenez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davies off to one side.
Davies wants to clinch up but Jimenez keeps it at a distance.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jimenez.
Davies darts in trying to clinch
and Jimenez counters with a nice low kick that buckles Davies's knee momentarily.
Davies looks gassed!
Davies misses with a head kick.
Jimenez throws a one two combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jimenez feints and as Davies raises his hands in defense, Jimenez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jimenez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Davies dives on top into guard.
Jimenez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jimenez is looking for a triangle but Davies pushes his legs off easily.

Davies performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Davies is looking to take a break and control but Jimenez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jimenez tries to roll over but Davies keeps him under control.
Davies perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Davies is keen to just control but Jimenez is a slippery customer.
Davies prevents Jimenez from improving his position.
Jimenez kicks Davies off and gets back to his feet.
Jimenez misses with a body kick.
Davies feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Davies tries to free his leg and advance position but Jimenez is retaining full guard.
Davies wants to control from the top but Jimenez keeps moving.

Davies is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davies works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Jimenez won't allow Davies to pass to mount.
Jimenez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jimenez is looking to get back to full guard here but Davies has managed to pass to side control instead.
Jimenez tries to reverse the position but Davies maintains control.
Davies manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jimenez to take his back!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Davies really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Jimenez.
Jimenez can't escape the position.
Davies is cranking Jimenez's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Jimenez! He's tightened the choke and Jimenez is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Carlos Davies!
