0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Klay Snapp! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acosta looks to clinch and Snapp counters with a series of strikes. Acosta will be more careful next time no doubt. Some wild striking there from Snapp.
Snapp lands with a nice combination. Acosta backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Andy Acosta has been cut. Snapp fails in his attempt to clinch. Snapp moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. No joy there for Snapp, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Acosta appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Snapp fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Snapp lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Acosta sprawling to the canvas. Snapp follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Acosta hang on?

Acosta holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Snapp is just content to waste time from the top position. Acosta takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Snapp postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Oh Acosta is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Acosta looking for a sweep. Not yet Acosta, not yet. Acosta seems to have got his legs back now. Snapp wants to control from the top but Acosta keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Acosta is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Acosta keeping moving, preventing Snapp from controlling successfully. Acosta looking to hit a scissor sweep but Snapp is one step ahead there. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Acosta is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Acosta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Snapp controls Acosta momentarily but Acosta frees himself. Snapp is working an open guard so Acosta takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Snapp closes the distance and lands a one-two. Klay Snapp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Snapp looks to land a right hand but Acosta moved out of range. Acosta really is a fat lump. Snapp looks winded! Snapp throws a right and a left that Acosta avoids nicely. Acosta half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Acosta showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Snapp.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Acosta lands a nice short elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Klay Snapp dominated that round. The cut man is working on Andy Acosta's cut. That's time! Acosta's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
No luck for Acosta with that takedown attempt. Snapp shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Acosta eats them both and turns towards Snapp to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Acosta tries to close the distance and clinch but Snapp swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Snapp tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Acosta paws at him with a jab and circles away. Acosta clinches with his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Snapp avoids a wild elbow strike from Acosta. Snapp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Snapp lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Acosta backs up against the cage.
Snapp looks to land a right hand but Acosta moved out of range.

Acosta throws a counter high kick but Snapp was just alert enough to avoid it. Snapp swinging wildly here.

and Acosta takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Snapp pushes Acosta up against the cage in a clinch. Acosta manages to break the clinch.

The referee is keeping an eye on Acosta - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Snapp tries to break the clinch but Acosta is controlling the position. Acosta lands with a left to the head. Acosta pressing his opponent against the cage. Snapp wants to break free but Acosta has control.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Acosta takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Snapp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Snapp lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Snapp. Snapp misses with a body shot.
Acosta rushes Snapp and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Snapp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fight moves into the clinch position. Acosta throws a head punch that misses. Acosta breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Acosta misses with a few strikes there.
Klay Snapp seems to be getting the better of the standup. Acosta misses with a double jab.

Snapp gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Snapp lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Acosta backs up against the cage.
Andy Acosta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Acosta dives in for a single leg takedown but Snapp sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Snapp is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Acosta slips a jab and a cross from Snapp.
Acosta looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Acosta closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Snapp's guard. Acosta is standing up over Snapp. Snapp looks to escape but Acosta dives into side control.
Acosta has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Acosta is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Snapp looks calm but he's in trouble here. Acosta gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Snapp is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Acosta lets go of the hold and Snapp can pop his arm back in it's socket.
