Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brian Blasted (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyoshi Sakei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian Blasted!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyoshi Sakei!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blasted throws a head kick but Sakei moves out of range.
Sakei wants to counter with a clinch but Blasted pushes him away.

Blasted drives through with a takedown into Sakei's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Sakei has an active guard here but Blasted has managed to pass into half guard.
Blasted is looking to take a break and control but Sakei is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sakei is trying to get back to full guard.
Blasted is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blasted is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sakei working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blasted doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blasted manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Blasted got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sakei has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blasted has managed to get both his arms back between Sakei's legs - danger averted.

Blasted has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sakei working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blasted doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blasted manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sakei striking off his back but it's not causing Blasted any problems.
Sakei trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Blasted tries to stand but Sakei is controlling from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Blasted wants to control from the top but Sakei keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Blasted darts in and clinches Sakei up against the cage.

Sakei has clasped his hands together around Blasted's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Sakei is trying to get an arm triangle but Blasted is defending well.

Sakei works to advance to full mount. Blasted defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
We've been informed that Sakei has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Sakei is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Sakei wants to finish this one by submission but Blasted is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sakei.

Blasted on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blasted tries to get out of the position.

Sakei lands a nice shot to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sakei wants to take Blasted's back here but Blasted is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Sakei lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Blasted knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sakei on the ground.
Blasted wants to control but Sakei is having none of it.
Sakei has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Blasted keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sakei is looking for a triangle but Blasted pushes his legs off easily.
Blasted tries to stand but Sakei is controlling from the bottom.

Sakei escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blasted gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Blasted trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sakei's guard.

Sakei is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sakei not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Sakei looking for a guillotine here but Blasted defends easily.
Blasted throws a big elbow that misses.
Blasted trying to control the position from guard on top but Sakei is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Blasted doesn't manage to clinch there - Sakei circles away.
Blasted is looking to clinch.

Blasted shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Blasted showed some decent athleticism there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sakei actively working from the bottom here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Blasted in particular looking to stall.
Sakei is doing well to control the position and prevent Blasted from advancing to side control.
Blasted works his way into full mount!
Blasted prevents Sakei from getting the reversal.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Blasted avoids the attempt from Sakei to control.
Sakei tries to reverse the position but Blasted maintains control.
Sakei blocking the ground and pound.

Blasted jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sakei is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sakei and Blasted has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Sakei is trying to control Blasted's posture but Blasted avoids it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blasted laying and praying for a moment but Sakei takes advantage and regains half guard.
Blasted is trying to control the action in half guard but Sakei is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Blasted clinches with his opponent.
Sakei has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Blasted avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Blasted with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Blasted is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Blasted's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Blasted is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sakei changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blasted tries to avoid it but Sakei manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blasted to the ground. Blasted escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brian Blasted has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyoshi Sakei.
Blasted scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sakei doesn't seem bothered though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blasted takes a swing at Sakei's ribcage but misses.
Sakei takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Blasted bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Blasted misses with the ground and pound.
Blasted trying to control the action but Sakei is working from the bottom.
Sakei manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Sakei is concentrating on defense, preventing Blasted from advancing position.

Blasted is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sakei makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sakei.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Blasted throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sakei works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Blasted has gone for a leg lock! Sakei slips out almost immediately though and dives into Blasted's guard.

Sakei works over Blasted with some ground and pound from guard.
Blasted wants to stand up but Sakei is controlling him.
Blasted manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sakei manages to get himself to full guard.

Blasted passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Blasted thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Blasted is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Sakei slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Blasted stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sakei swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Blasted avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Blasted looking to sit in guard and control but Sakei gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kyoshi Sakei has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sakei is pushing down on Blasted's leg trying to pass to half guard. Blasted is fighting to maintain full guard but Sakei has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sakei is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Blasted trying to hold on to Sakei's head to control him but Sakei postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sakei is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Blasted has managed to free his arm - good work.
