Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, James Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Vince Nash! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nash is staying active underneath Miller, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Miller working over Nash with some ground and pound. Nash looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Nash is pressing down on Miller's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Nash working for a triangle but Miller defends it easily.
Nash looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nash can't keep his opponent in guard - Miller advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Miller tries to pass to full mount but Nash defends it. Nash tries to roll over but Miller keeps him under control. The fighters are battling for position here. Nash manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Miller wants to pass the guard but Nash is keeping the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller forces his way into half guard. Miller is working for a kimura but Nash is defending it quite comfortably.
Miller stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Nash to get to his feet. Nash misses with a takedown attempt and Miller counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nash looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nash looks gassed! Miller is pushing down on Nash's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nash is fighting to maintain full guard but Miller has managed to sneak the leg through. Miller in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Nash tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Miller!
