Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lewis Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hakan Fjellknaus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fjellknaus is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Fireman. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Bowman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hakan Fjellknaus!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman shoots in for a takedown but Fjellknaus shows good takedown defense.
Fjellknaus looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Fjellknaus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bowman steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Fjellknaus. That one must have hurt.
Fjellknaus lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fjellknaus throws a right and a left that Bowman avoids nicely.
Bowman keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Bowman cracks Fjellknaus with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nice takedown defense from Fjellknaus. No joy for Bowman on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lewis Bowman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bowman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fjellknaus tries to avoid it but Bowman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fjellknaus to the ground. Fjellknaus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bowman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fjellknaus as he jumps to the side.

Fjellknaus has taken the fight to the clinch.

Fjellknaus gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Fjellknaus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bowman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Fjellknaus counters by moving into the clinch.

Fjellknaus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bowman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fjellknaus counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Fjellknaus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bowman won't be happy with that.
Fjellknaus is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bowman will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Fjellknaus is looking to take a break and control but Bowman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bowman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fjellknaus is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Fjellknaus has eaten all the pies!

Bowman had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fjellknaus is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bowman Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fjellknaus's back instead.
Will Bowman go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fjellknaus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bowman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee asks Fjellknaus politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Fjellknaus prefers to stall for the moment though.

Fjellknaus wants the takedown. Bowman is fighting it off but Fjellknaus persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bowman's guard against the cage.

Fjellknaus goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bowman turns into him and now he's in Fjellknaus's guard.

Well Fjellknaus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
