Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marc Pearson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Slewton!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson tries to close the distance and clinch but Slewton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pearson throws a big shot that misses.
No joy there for Pearson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Slewton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pearson to the mat! Pearson manages to get full guard.
Pearson wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pearson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Slewton wants to pass the guard but Pearson is keeping the position.
Pearson being controlled here, momentarily.
Pearson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Slewton sitting in guard here, content to control.
Slewton won't allow Pearson to get back to his feet.

Pearson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slewton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slewton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Pearson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slewton on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Pearson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Slewton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Slewton performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Slewton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pearson pushes Slewton off looking to stand but Slewton dives back in and keeps control.
Pearson is breathing heavily.
Slewton seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pearson is in trouble now - Slewton has advanced to mount!
Slewton prevents Pearson from getting the reversal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slewton landing strikes, looking to finish!

Slewton lands a nice shot to the head.

Let's hope that Slewton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Slewton lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Slewton working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Pearson can't escape the position.

Pearson holds on to Slewton around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.

Slewton looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Pearson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Slewton scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Pearson?

Slewton is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Slewton extends the arm and Pearson is forced to tap!
