Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ellis Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikedmondson Edmondson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikedmondson Edmondson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ellis Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mikedmondson Edmondson!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edmondson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reed on his heels. He'll look to pass Reed's guard now, I'm sure.
Edmondson wants to control from the top but Reed keeps moving.
Reed wants to get back to his feet but Edmondson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Edmondson throws a big elbow that misses.
Reed really is a fat lump.
Edmondson looking to sit in guard and control but Reed gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Reed might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Edmondson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edmondson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Edmondson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reed is controlling him.

Edmondson pulls Reed in close to prevent any damage.
Edmondson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Edmondson is trying to control the position but Reed postures up.

Reed gets to his feet - Edmondson follows without any prompting.

Edmondson looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Reed is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Edmondson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reed is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reed has escaped and now he's on top!

Edmondson is trying to keep Reed in close.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Reed is working Edmondson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Reed would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Edmondson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Reed manages to pass to side control.
Reed prevents Edmondson from standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reed throws Edmondson to one side and escapes!

and Reed counters with a series of strikes. Edmondson will be more careful next time no doubt.
Edmondson tries to close the distance and clinch but Reed swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reed defending against the ground and pound.
Reed is looking to reverse the position.
Ellis Reed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Reed wants to get back to his feet but Edmondson drags him back down.
Reed wants to control but Edmondson postures up.

Reed throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Edmondson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Edmondson lands in his opponent's guard.
Edmondson is breathing heavily.
Edmondson throws a strike but Reed rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Edmondson wants to stand but Reed is controlling the position.
Reed wants to stand and escape but instead Edmondson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Reed is pulling down on Edmondson's head. It's preventing any offense from Edmondson, at least for the moment.

Edmondson is in close to Reed's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Edmondson throws an elbow that misses. Reed uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Edmondson's guard. Nice move by Reed!


Edmondson is working an open guard so Reed takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Reed bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Reed drives through and clinches with Edmondson against the cage.

Reed is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Edmondson trying to control the position from guard on top but Reed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Reed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edmondson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ellis Reed dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Reed tries to clinch
and Edmondson counters with a three punch combo that has Reed backing up. Reed nods at Edmondson to acknowledge the strikes.

Edmondson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Reed's guard.
Edmondson is standing up over Reed. Reed looks to escape but Edmondson dives into side control.


Edmondson decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Edmondson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reed tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Edmondson is in Reed's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Edmondson stays in close to Reed's body and controls the position.
Edmondson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Edmondson lands a couple of elbows.
Edmondson throwing strikes from guard but Reed blocks nicely.
Edmondson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Edmondson gets a double leg takedown into Reed's guard.

Reed is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Edmondson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Edmondson lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Reed wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Edmondson has him pressed against the cage.
Edmondson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reed is defending well for now.

Edmondson pulls guard successfully.
Reed trying to stand up but can't free himself from Edmondson's guard.

Reed gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Edmondson jumps into guard, dragging Reed to the mat.

Reed is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Reed throws a big right hand that misses.

Reed gets to his feet - Edmondson follows without any prompting.
Edmondson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
It looked like Reed wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Reed is looking to clinch.
Edmondson tries to close the distance and clinch but Reed swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Edmondson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Reed manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Edmondson jumps guard and drags Reed to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Edmondson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Reed is now in half guard.
Edmondson is looking to get back to is feet but Reed passes into side control.

Reed stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Reed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Edmondson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Edmondson wants to counter the offense by Reed and move into the clinch position.
Edmondson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Edmondson defending well as Reed loads up on a big left hand.

Reed clinches with his opponent.
Mikedmondson Edmondson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ellis Reed is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Reed on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Mikedmondson Edmondson.
I think Reed has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
